I love contemporary Christian worship music.
But as I have gotten older, I have developed a
great appreciation for the old hymns. As a
child I remember singing them without really
trying to understand the lyrics. Now that I can
understand the full meanings of these beautiful songs,
I truly enjoy not only singing them, but also just
reading and studying the words.

I have to admit, I had never even read a few of these
verses until today. What an amazing ode to God's
unfailing grace! I love to sing this song, and I usually
sing the version done by Selah
(minus the African song they have as an intro)

And what the video leaves out is the birth of two more
daughters and one son before their move to Jerusalem.
They also lost this son. So much loss. So much faith.
